为了推进学校双一流建设及留学生医学教育的可持续发展，推动医学生的双语教学工作，同时有利于教师切磋交流英语教学方法与教学手段，展示教师的英语教学水平和教学风采，8月29日，由医学部和国际教育学院联合举办的2018年度医学部教师英语授课竞赛在雁塔校区病南教室成功举办。
来自基础医学院、一附院、二附院、口腔医院4个教学单位的14名教师参加了竞赛。授课竞赛由医学部人才培养处主任候樊兴主持，吕毅校长助理、张明处长出席开幕式。竞赛专家评委为：胡海涛教授、范桂香教授、文抑西教授、吕社民教授、马清涌教授、展淑琴教授，国际教育学院张华主任、赵安平主任及兰雪萍主任。专家评委主要从教学内容、教学组织、教学形式、教态四个方面打分。
留学生首次作为评委为参赛教师打分也是本次竞赛的一大亮点，由国际教育学院选拔的15名留学生以学生角度从听（容易理解及语言生动）、看（演示只管及感染力强）、学（学有所获及富有启发）三个方面打分。
竞赛于9:00准时开始，专业的医学知识、多元化的授课方式、流畅标准的英文发音、精彩动态的多媒体制作、恰当有效的教学互动，赢得了评委们和现场观众的阵阵掌声。原本枯燥难懂、甚至有些晦涩的医学知识在各位授课教师的精湛讲解下变得生动有趣起来。
最终第一附属医院祁磊老师获得了特等奖。一等奖：穆欣与秦思达，二等奖文艺峰、裴丹丹、王斐、滕月、罗小琴；三等奖：史小莲、周晓勃、宁玉洁、张滟、张晓田、徐思越。
参加此次活动的留学生评委们无不为参赛老师而折服，每每老师们讲完，席间传来阵阵欢呼，对于参加此次活动的体会，他们写到：

It was an unforgettable experience. Rating the teacher was one of the hardest things I've ever done because they all were equally good. I really enjoyed it and I learned a lot of stuff and it encouraged me to study more medical related subjects.

Confidence, good language skills, loud voice, eye contact with everyone, some movement on the stage, body language, and less words/more photos in the slides! All of these factors contribute in coming up with a good presentation, and I was actually surprised at how some of the doctors’ presentation skills were amazing.

The competition that was held today was actually an eye opener for me. It made me realize the potential our university has. I have always complained about the lack of foreign lectures in our teaching faculty, but today proved me wrong. The lectures I heard today were amazing, and enriched with knowledge. The most amazing part was the teachers were only given a limited time of 20 minutes to deliver the lecture. In that short time, I learnt a lot from the respective courses. Our own lectures have the ability to even teach abroad in countries like the United States and Australia. I believe our university will actually deserve to be among the best universities in the world. Today made me feel like learning can be fun in XJTU! Come on 交大, we can do it.
